Cao Lijun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Inspected CHAM New Energy's Mianyang Production Base on Account of New Quality Productive Forces

On August 21, Cao Lijun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Secretary of Mianyang Municipal Party Committee, visited Mianyang CHAM, went right to the front line of the enterprise, supervised the study, publicity and implementation of the guiding principles from the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and gave instructions on the innovative development of the enterprise based on an on-the-spot investigation. Mr. Meng, Chairman of CHAM New Energy, accompanied him throughout the tour, and introduced in detail the milestones of CHAM New Energy, as well as the "four No. 1" goal and advanced advantages of the high-speed digital production line of large cylindrical batteries at the Mianyang base, including digitalization, smart technologies, green and low carbon, etc.

Accompanied by Meng, Secretary Cao and his group first visited the Mianyang CHAM Digital Management Center. Meng introduced in detail the company's fully-automated high-speed production line of large cylindrical wide-temperature-range quasi-solid batteries built based on digital technology. This production line marks that CHAM has achieved the dual value objectives of an on-site intelligent manufacturing plant and an online full-data factory. The production line demonstrates its leading position in the industry by pursuing "four No. 1", as follows. Firstly, it has been No. 1 in China, with its automated lines of 32-series and 46-series large cylindrical batteries being ahead of Japanese and Korean enterprises in an all-round way. Secondly, the production line has been No. 1 in compatibility, with its equipment being fully compatible with lithium battery, sodium battery and quasi-solid battery systems with different sizes and capacities, which makes it the first in the industry. Thirdly, the production line has been No. 1 in efficiency. Specifically, it has reached the highest level in the industry in terms of the production efficiency of both 32-series and 46-series large cylindrical batteries, which is improved by 100%, with the manufacturing cost being 20% lower than that of conventional batteries, and the product yield increased to 99.5%, a leading level in the industry. Fourthly, the production line has been No. 1 in data. Adhering to the concept of a transparent smart factory, CHAM has been able to capture all the data of the whole manufacturing process, and trace the whole process of a single battery from the supply chain to the customer, leading the large cylindrical battery industry in terms of data accumulation and application.

Moreover, the production line has advanced advantages in digitalization, smart technologies, green and low carbon. In terms of digitalization, its automation rate is as high as 100%, with the labor efficiency significantly improved by 10 times. In terms of smart technologies, CHAM has achieved full coverage of intelligent scenarios through the deep integration of visual perception and AI technology, ensuring that its digital factory can operate continuously and efficiently 24 hours a day. In terms of green and low carbon, CHAM, working with SGS, a world-renowned green factory certification authority, has built a zero-carbon factory, which has achieved 100% recovery of wastewater, energy and waste materials and effectively reduced the operating costs of similar factories by more than 10%. This demonstrates CHAM's firm determination and excellent practice in pursuit of sustainable development.

After that, Secretary Cao and his group went right to the front line of the digital production line, and made an all-round inspection of the production process of large cylindrical batteries and all processes from paste mixing to assembly, gaining a further understanding of CHAM's technologies and processes. The efficient operation of the fully-automated production line and the precise operation by intelligent robots at the site will play an important role in promoting the development of the equipment manufacturing industry in Mianyang City and even across Sichuan Province. Secretary Cao highly affirmed this.

During the visit, a variety of Bamboo-series large cylindrical battery products and energy storage products in the product display area attracted Secretary Cao's  attention. With the advantages of high energy density, high safety, long service life, wide temperature range and low cost, CHAM's large cylindrical products have been widely used in various fields, providing users with safe and reliable energy solutions.

During the investigation, Secretary Cao expressed his high hopes for the development of CHAM New Energy. He encouraged CHAM New Energy to continue to leverage its strengths and develop new quality productive forces according to local conditions, and said that with 22 years of experience in cylindrical battery research and manufacturing, CHAM New Energy is fully capable of developing the world's best large cylindrical battery and system products and contributing "Mianyang's Efforts" to the development of the global new energy industry. In addition, Secretary Cao said that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, led by the economic structural reform, put forward a number of reform measures closely related to the management and development of enterprises, and released a firm stand and a clear signal to support the development and growth of the private sector. In view of this, he hoped that CHAM New Energy will proceed with confidence, seize opportunities, increase R&D investment in the forefront of the industry, accelerate product iteration and upgrading to meet market demands, strengthen external publicity and promotion, and keep improving its brand influence. Furthermore, he suggested that CHAM New Energy provide stronger support in terms of production factors in relevant aspects, take the initiative to serve those in need, address existing challenges in time, and create favorable conditions for its development and growth.
